CAMPGROUND AND RV PARK
Located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley, we offer a variety of touring accommodations and services …….. oversized pull thru RV sites with full hook-ups, riverside sites with fire pits, a hostel area frequented by bicyclists and traveling groups, and a more remote, wooded tent area enjoyed by many families. Our comfortable facilities, plus the convenience of a central location offer easy access to the area’s many attractions and outdoor pursuits. You should be warned! Many come for a short visit only to extend their stay and enjoyment!

On the property is a laundry, showers, dump station and boat launch available for your use. A locally famous camp store with nearly everything you could need while our guest or touring – grocery and convenience items, beer and wine, unleaded gas and diesel, propane, video rentals, a large selection of Montana tee shirts and gifts. And for all you sportsmen, a well stocked fishing tackle and hunting department is available as well.

Reservations are always recommended, especially during our busy May thru September season.

BITTERROOT FISHING

Imagine the delight serious and casual anglers alike find in the Bitterroot River…….. many dozens of miles of long riffles, deep pools and runs, mysterious undercut banks, challenging obstructions and channels. Every mile with, quite literally, thousands of catchable trout per mile and one of the longest fishing seasons in the Northern Rocky Mountains. And these trout are wild ….. power house Rainbows, heavy weight Cutthroats and lurking Browns ……. every last one born and reared in the local creeks and ready to fight !!

While the Bitterroot River is the main attraction, other local waters offer a huge variety of fishing opportunities. You can fish the smaller forks to their headwaters, hike to a mountain lake, pool hop along rushing creeks or cast into beaver ponds. Many anglers come to float all day under the watchful eye of a local guide. It is all here and just a short ride or, from our property, a short walk away !

We are located on the banks of the Bitterroot at the gateway to the upper river and the nearby Rock Creek. Our camp store is managed by knowledgeable and friendly local families. We take pride in not only being able to provide reliable flies and tackle, but are happy to be able to share information on conditions and direct you to local waters. This, plus Montana’s enlightened stream access law and large amounts of public land, make these waters a destination you will want to return to again and again.

ON THE LEWIS AND CLARK TRAIL
The Corps of Discovery spent nearly six months of their journey in what was to become Montana and, just as it is today, the Bitterroot Valley was an important crossroad. The valley was a peaceful and welcome relief after the incredible hardships of the mountain crossings of 1805 and 1806. It was here that they traded for horses with the Indians, met their guide and prepared for crossing the Continental Divide on the Lolo Trail and, on the return trip, divided their command to take northerly and southerly routes east, continuing to explore these unknown lands. Angler’s Roost is a convenient and centrally located stop on the trail and just a short drive away from such famous landmarks as Ross’ Hole, Lost Trail Pass, The River of No Return, Traveler’s Rest, Lolo Hot Springs and Packer Meadows.

BEYOND THE RIVER

Our central location allows easy access to Western Montana’s many historic and cultural sites. A scenic drive can have you enjoying one of the areas many ghost towns or museums, perhaps visiting an Indian battlefield or taking a dip in a natural hot spring along the way. Spend the day just cruising, following the Lewis and Clark Trail, or on a scenic byway through our National Forests.

Outdoor pursuits in the area are extensive and not just limited to fishing. A drive of just a few minutes can have you hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding from a local trailhead. Golfing, wildlife viewing, rafting or canoeing, snowmobiling, and hunting are just a few more of the many local opportunities available.

So come, be our guest and share the best western Montana has to offer! The rates are reasonable and the natives are very, very friendly.
